I fell in love with photography in my high school darkroom and got my first job so I could afford film and paper. I went on to major in media and communication at University of Washington while putting a heavy emphasis on visual arts. I always knew in my heart that I belonged behind the lens because it is where I am happiest.

Photos give us the little pieces of our lives that we never want to forget and I am honored to be able to share that with others. I have always been a story teller, a big feeler and hopeless romantic, so being a photographer is literally living my dream.

When I am not behind the lens, you can find me tending to my house plants, hiking our gorgeous trails and hanging with my hubby and our two amazing kids. Travel is a huge priority for me as I pursue core memories endlessly. I love coffee and a good laugh, but most of all, I love that this is what I get to do.

Okay, so I know it always looks fake and suspicious when something/someone has only 5 star reviews, but Valerie is nothing but Amazing! She truly loves what she does and is very good at it. Her prices are very fair and she doesn't take advantage of clients. You will always get more than you bargained for with her and you WILL be 100% satisfied. I had such a wonderful experience having our family photos done by Valerie. She was friendly and gave us great direction for ideas on poses, locations, etc. She had great communication and was prompt in answering my e-mails. There are not enough good things I can say about Valerie! We have used her three times now for family photos (pregnancy announcement, newborn and 1 year cake smash) and couldn't be more thrilled with the results. Being people who don't like having our pictures taken (and don't photograph all that well!), Valerie always makes us feel so comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. She handles kid nonsense so well and always manages to get the pictures we want no matter how difficult the kids are being. And her pricing is beyond reasonable. She has become a true friend to us!
